United Multicultural Centre held its 30th AGM at MyPlace Rotherham on 17th July 2012. Mrs Qureshi, managing director of the United Multicultural
Centre commented on the changing face of UMCC which has been engaged in
upskilling staff, diversifying and increasing quality while reducing costs.
UMCC are now part of the ‘Thrive’ national consortium delivering a Family
Intervention Project. UMCC have become an approved development provider for the
Institute of Leadership and Management offering courses: Leadership in Action,
Business Planning, Fluent in Finance, and commissioning and contracting. UMCC
have also become a learning destination for the Rotherham Children’s
University.
UMCC received a visit from Her Royal Highness the Countess
of Wessex in 2011. Mrs Qureshi finally thanked all the funders, stakeholders,
partners, volunteers, board and staff and the clients who were all present at
the AGM, including Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council Chief executive
Martin Kimber who presented certificates to students who had completed various
courses during 2011-2012.
